What to Expect?

Not sure what to expect during the course of the trial?

Here's a brief overview of the steps in a clinical trial and what each step will look like as a volunteer:

Pre-Screening You'll receive a phone call from one of our site coordinators to describe our current eligible studies and review your eligibility criteria for each study. If you are a potential match, we'll schedule a screening appointment at our office.

Screening Visit After you arrive at our office, you’ll read through and sign the study's Informed Consent Forms. The site staff will go over any questions thoroughly to make sure you’re well informed before making any final decisions. We’ll go over your medical history in great length to make sure you are a good fit for the study, and to make sure the study is a good fit for you. Various study assessments such as collecting vitals, urine, lab work, questionnaires, etc may also be completed at this visit. Once we collect all the necessary information to confidently say you are eligible (about 1 week), you will receive a call from one of our staff to come in for your Randomization Visit.

Randomization Visit This visit is where you will be trained and started on the trial's investigational drug/product. We'll likely do the same assessments that were completed at the Screening Visit. We'll get you scheduled for your future visits.

Phone Visits
In-Office Visits

Study Visits There are multiple study visits throughout the trial, all of different durations and complexities. At the beginning of the trial, there could be multiple visits with a primary goal of increasing the dosage of the investigational drug. Some visits are quick follow-ups to check on how you are handling the study drug. Other visits are more intensive and include assessments, questionnaires, labwork, etc. We will always communicate what your future visits will include so you will be prepared when you arrive.

End of Study This visit will complete the study and mark the end of any investigational drugs/products you are currently taking.

Follow-Up Visit This is typically 1 month following the End of Study visit. The purpose of this visit is to check-in on you after termination of the study drug. Following this visit, you are more than welcome to reach out for any questions or concerns related to your health and/or the study you participated in.
